Highlights

The 16th Annual SESAM Meeting LINKING HIGH TECH TO HIGH TOUCH was a great succes. The SESAM EC would like to thank the local organizers in Groningen for a meeting of high quality. Click for an impression by  Burkhard J. Wermter.

 

Immediate Past President

Doris Østergaard, M.D., DMSc., Associate Professor at Herlev University Hospital, Denmark, Certified Specialist in Anaesthesia, Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Dundee (UK) in 2003.

She is head of the Danish Institute of Medical Simulation (DIMS) and involved in development and planning of educational activities and research related to education and patient safety. Doris is responsible for the nationwide implementation of simulation in the mandatory simulation courses for anaesthesiologists and has been involved in the development of a formal in-training assessment programme.

Her dedication to patient safety is documented by her numerous publications in the field of patient safety, simulation, education as well as specific clinical aspects.
