Treasurer

York Zausig - MD, D.E.A.A. studied Medicine at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, at the University of New York, New York, USA and at the University of Zuerich, Switzerland.

He started his career as an anaesthesiologist at the Department of Anaesthesiology, University of Heidelberg, Germany. He is also trained in emergency and intensive care medicine. Together with Prof. Dr. Bernhard Graf he was responsible for the patient simulator "HANS" in Heidelberg.

His main focus is training of medical students, nurses and physicians in emergency medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care. His main research interests are non-technical skills, human factors and evaluation of standard operating procedures using simulators.

2005 -2009 he was working at the Department of Anaesthesiology, ZARI, University of Goettingen, Germany.

Since 2009, York is the attending of the intensive care unit of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Anaesthesiology at the Department of Anaesthesiology, University Hospital of Regensburg, Germany. York was appointed treasurer by the executive committee in its Oct. 2005 meeting to replace the former treasurer on own request. At the general assembly in Copenhagen 2007 and the general assembly in Mainz, 2009, he was re-elected as the treasurer of SESAM.

His main interests in the EC are besides the financial management to simplify membership application and to increase webpage attraction.
