Dear Friends and Colleagues,

A warm and jolly welcome to you all this festive winter season.

This Autumn our EC Meeting took place in Paris; France, the iconic city which will be hosting SESAM 2017. We were excited to visit "Le Centre Universitaire des Saints-Pères" which will be the venue for our 23rd Annual Meeting on 14-16 June, 2017. We were also welcomed by the local commitee during this visit.

Some of the topics we discussed involved the running of the Society, including accreditation of Centres; the European Simulation Network; endorsed and supported meetings by SESAM; affiliation and possible interactions with other societies.

Accreditation

As you may already know, we proudly announced the SESAM Accreditation programme during the General Assembly at SESAM 2016.

By seeking accreditation, an institution can demonstrate its qualities which are then judged and validated by an independent body, which is internationally recognised in simulation-based education in healthcare. The use of the “Accredited by SESAM” logo is a quality marker, which will allow the institution to stand out and further underline its high quality standards.

Simulation Centre Networking Project

We would like to extend an invitation to all Simulation Centres throughout Europe, both large and small, to present their centre as a Simulation Centre Network. 

We believe this will provide better communication with simulation enthusiasts, information sharing between Simulation Centres and an updated list of Simulation Centres in Europe.

AIS - the official journal of SESAM-provides a forum to share scholarly practice to advance the use of simulation in the context of health and social care.
