SIMANNU is a medical simulation centre that came to life as a department of AILUN (Association for the Institution of the Free University of Nuoro) on February the 2nd, 2012.

Since then, a huge number of educational events have been organized using CRM method (Crisis Resource Management) with team work training, appropriate communication and effective implementation of available resources.

Training pathways intend to spread technical and non-technical skills (including human factors) by means of employing high fidelity simulation mannequins and sophisticated task trainers.

For macro-simulation purposes, many different kinds of simulation sets are put in place, depending on the specific didactic aim or the training goal of our courses.

Our faculty has been trained by Peter Weinstock MD, Director of the Simulation Program at Children’s Hospital of the Boston Harvard School of Medicine (USA) and by his assistant Kevin Ban MD, both excelling professionals considered worldwide a benchmark in this field.

SIMANNU center includes a covered area of 450 square meters in three levels. We have two simulation rooms, both with direction cabins connected, two skill rooms for practical training with specific task trainers, one informatic room for microsimulations and/or front lessons, two modular rooms for multiporpose activities (front lessons, simulation task training or debriefing), a wide room for conferences or  large groups debriefing, two dedicated spaces for faculty, a front office for events with a wide reception space.

Then, a large square, allows outdoor simulations and external location to use of working mobile units.

The whole place is wired for a multiple channel access in each single area.
