The Vall d'Hebron Center for Advanced Clinical Simulation is integrated into the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, and provides a transversal service to the institution. It forms one of the pillars of the Hospital's Teaching Department.

The center's mission is to position Vall d'Hebron as a benchmark hospital in the use of simulation in training programs as a model of training efficiency. For this reason, the Vall d'Hebron Advanced Clinical Simulation Center works to apply clinical simulation as a training methodology for healthcare professionals to achieve a direct impact on improving the quality of care and patient safety.

The strategic lines of work are focused on:
  • Training programs for professionals: training in care techniques through the creation of a realistic and safe space, where professionals can train both in technical skills and in non-technical skills.
  • Development of new care techniques.
  • Development of new medical simulators and equipment.
  • Co-creation with companies and other Institutions: public-private collaborations with companies through co-creation, performance evaluations, usability, and user experience.
  • Research, development, and innovation in simulation to offer a training efficiency model with an impact on healthcare professionals and the patient.
