Let me start with a very warm welcome to you all – I hope you enjoyed the festive season (although I’m sure it feels like a distant memory now).
For the first newsletter of the year, and before we look forward to the next SESAM Annual Meeting, we want to thank you for attending last year’s meeting, and look back at some of the highlights of SESAM 2018 which took place in Bilbao, Spain from 27-29 June 2018.

During the SESAM 2018 General Assembly, three new executive committee members were elected:
Vice President: Francisco Maio Matos
Treasurer: Esther León Castelao
Marc Lazarovici, former treasurer, has been elected as President-Elect.

We are honoured to invite you to attend the 25th SESAM Annual Meeting, which will be hosted in Glasgow, Scotland from 12-14 June 2019.
The theme of the meeting will be ‘Excelling Together – 25 Years of Interprofessional Simulation in Europe’.
The SESAM 2019 Annual Meeting will offer a variety of engaging keynote lectures and state-of-the-art sessions, along with a selection of educational workshops.
SESAM members will be notified when registration opens – by email, through our website and via our social media accounts.

AIS is the official journal of SESAM; it provides a forum to share scholarly practice to advance the use of simulation in the context of health and social care.
Part of SESAM’s mission is to encourage and support the use of simulation in healthcare for the purpose of training and research; we are happy to learn about and publish the results of your research via AIS.
