We hope you are enjoying the warm/hot days of June as the first month of the summer season. We are excited as we are getting closer to our Annual Meeting in Bilbao and would like to share some news about SESAM 2018:
Scientific Content
The SESAM 2018 Annual Meeting will offer a variety of engaging keynote lectures and state-of-the-art sessions.
Nassir Navab, professor and director of the Laboratory for Computer Aided Medical Procedures at the Technical University of Munich, will explore the application of augmented reality in the simulation setting.
We will also look forward to welcoming Dr Lauren Collins as one of the state-of-the-art speakers. Dr Collins, an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine and Geriatrics at Thomas Jefferson University and Co-Director of Jefferson’s Center for Interprofessional Education (JCIPE), will focus on Interprofessional Education and the role of simulation in its delivery.

Pre-Hospital Special Interest Group Visit
We are excited to announce that the SESAM Pre-Hospital Special Interest Group is organising a visit to a local EMS Service in Bilbao. You can find detailed information about this visit here.
Wednesday, 27 June 2018, 10:00-12:00
A visit to the Bilbao Coordination Centre, located in the city centre, will be hosted by Idoia Revilla Uzkiza, head of the Biscayan EMS Services.
There is no charge for this event, but as numbers are limited to 20 participants, you need to register for it. Registration will be open until Monday 18 June 2018.

General Assembly
We invite all our members to the SESAM General Assembly on the second day of the meeting.
In addition to the launch of the new SESAM Strategic plan, there will be elections for new members of Executive Committee: President-Elect, Vice President and Treasurer.

SimUniversity
SESAM have partnered with Laerdal to deliver the first SimUniversity competition 2018 during the Annual Meeting.
SimUniversity is an innovative SESAM initiative aimed at creating opportunities for undergraduate healthcare students to take part in a formative educational experience on an international platform, by competing against each other as teams taking part in simulation scenarios.
The competition provides teams of healthcare students from around the world with the opportunity to compete and learn from each other under the supervision of experienced clinical and simulation experts.

Finally, we would like to remind you that you can renew your membership at any point during the year and enjoy a rolling year's membership, which expires at the end of the calendar year.
