As we are getting closer to our Annual Meeting, which will be held in Bilbao at the Euskalduna Conference Centre, from June 27-29 2018 with the theme of “Translational Simulation”, we are getting more excited to be able to host you in Spain.
SESAM Annual Meeting Bilbao 2018
English is the official language of the conference. SESAM will be providing simultaneous translation into Spanish for all sessions taking place in the plenary room throughout the conference. A number of communications and workshops will also be presented in Spanish.
Social Programme
Bilbao is the largest city in the province of Biscay and the Basque Country. Located near the northern shore of the Iberian Peninsula, about 16 kilometres (10 miles) south of the Bay of Biscay.
It is the tenth largest city in Spain and its metropolitan area has around 1 million inhabitants.

Scientific Content
Pre-conference Workshops
Delegates are invited to take part and make the most of their time in Bilbao by registering to attend the pre-conference workshops, which will be taking place during the morning of Wednesday 27 June. There will also be one workshop in Spanish.
Space will be limited, so you are encouraged to register early.
State of the Art Panel Discussion
The theme for the Panel Discussion will be, “Debriefing” and we will have four experienced invited speakers at this session: Victoria Brazil (Australia), Peter Dieckmann (Denmark), Michaela Kolbe (Switzerlend) and Rana Sharara-Chami (Lebanon). It will be held during the second day of the congress.
Accommodation
We have a range of hotels available for SESAM delegates to book, at specially negotiated rates, for SESAM 2018.
Our selected hotels are all of which are easily accessible to the Congress Centre. To quickly and easily make your booking at one of the hotels, you will need to register on our online booking system.
General Assembly
Following the online vote, the majority of our members agreed to adapt the structure of the EC. Therefore, during the General Assembly in Bilbao, we will vote on three EC positions: President-elect, Vice President and Treasurer. In addition to the elections the EC will also be sharing the SESAM Strategic Plan, which they have been developing over the past year. We invite all SESAM members to the General Assembly which will take place at 16:45 on the 28 June 2018 in Room A1.
