SESAM Newsletter October 2017

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Since we last met in Paris, the EC and I have been working hard on addressing some of the concerns raised.

In order to keep you updated, we have shared some of our areas of activity below.

General Meeting SESAM 2017

Our 23nd Annual Meeting took place in Paris, France. Simulation enthusiasts from Europe and beyond grasped the opportunity during the 2.5 days to engage in discussion about scientific, educational and many other aspects of simulation in healthcare.

Firstly, we would like to thank the Centre Universitaire des Saints-Pères for hosting SESAM 2017 and all those who participated in the meeting for their contributions to make SESAM 2017 a great success.

During the General Assembly at SESAM 2017 elections for the EC positions of President and Secretary took place.

I was welcomed in to the position of President and G.Ulufer Sivrikaya was elected for a second term as SESAM Secretary.

In addition, several concerns regarding the meeting organisation were highlighted during the General Assembly.

We took your concerns to heart and made the review and update of the SESAM Annual Meeting guidelines our first priority.

As part of this process, in order to allow the Scientific Committee ample time to review abstracts and address the late availability of a scientific programme, we have moved the abstract submission deadlines forward to mid-November.

The SESAM 2017 published abstracts will be available soon. More details to follow.
